General Tips

  • Get your muscles ready for the challenge – always warm up first.
  • Avoid overtraining; resting your body is as important as building your endurance.
  • Include variation in your training – the old saying ‘a change is as good as a rest’ is true. Variation makes training more fun and helps you stick to your goals.
  • Be consistent in your training and workout – a little and often is much better than erratic stops and starts.
  • Be flexible, if you have to miss a workout, don’t give up but continue with your workout plan.
  • Set yourself realistic goals.
  • Eat well and keep hydrated– a good diet is essential for a successful exercise and training regime and drinking enough while training is vital.
  • Last but not least, no matter what the sport or exercise regime, use proper, good quality equipment.
